On December 2, 2008, Sega introduced the Wii game Nancy Drew: The White Wolf of Icicle Creek. This was the debut to Wii of any game with the super sleuth Nancy Drew.
"Unexplained explosions and a lone white wolf haunt the bewildered guests of the Icicle Creek Lodge in the Canadian Rockies. Is there a plot to sabotage this wilderness resort? It's up to you, as Nancy Drew, to go undercover as a hired employee and track down the culprit."
This game has been wildly popular in PC format. Being on Wii, there is a bit of adjustment period learning it on a Wii controller, but once you figure it out, it comes naturally. The graphics were great, although at times, it was a little too dark, which made it hard to see where you were going and what was coming up. It is rated E for everyone. It offers the player to use problem solving solutions and is definitely a thinking game!
Family Time Factor: Definitely not for younger kids as they would have to read and be able to problem solve. I would say it would probably be best enjoyed from 10 and up. It can definitely be played as a family, though! It's a good way to spend a rainy day or evening as it promotes critical thinking and is not gory or gruesome.
MOTR Grade: B
Feel free to checkout a streaming trailer for this game!
